According to Frost and Sullivan analysts, non-automated fingerprint identification systems (Non-AFIS) is the prevalent biometric technology which is being adopted in the commercial sphere, in particular silicon swipe sensors. Moreover, leading silicon manufacturers have invested heavily in research and development of silicon swipe sensors to be used for both e-commerce and m-commerce.
